To begin this new journey of theological reflection, I find myself drawn first to the Apostles’ Creed — a small collection of words carrying the weight of centuries. It is no modest undertaking to sit with such a statement. The Creed stands as one of the earliest attempts to gather the essential convictions of Christian faith into a single, steady voice. Though not penned directly by the Apostles themselves, it bears the imprint of their teaching and the resonance of Scripture. Its earliest echoes reach us from the late fourth century, and by the fifth, its Latin form had already begun to shape Christian confession across the world.

Across time, across cultures, across denominations, the Creed remains a shared touchstone — a simple, enduring articulation of belief. It reads as follows:

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth;
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy catholic Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body,
And the life everlasting. Amen.

As you can see, the Creed unfolds in three movements: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — a rhythm of belief that has shaped Christian imagination for generations.
